The new iPod Touch 3^rd Generation is the latest in Apple’s lineup of touch screen devices. The new iPod Touch was released in Sept 2009 in the form of 8, 16, and 32GB models. The 8GB model although labeled as a 3^rd generation iPod Touch still uses the same internal hardware. The 8GB model uses software to achieve similar functionality to that of the 32 and 64GB models. The 32 and 64GB iPod Touch models boast a new hardware design. The external design of all three models remains unchanged over 2^nd generation iPod Touch models. This model comes standard with the Apple dock connector and 3.5mm headphone jack located on the bottom which is the same as the first and second generation iPod Touch models.

The new iPod Touch like its predecessor has a 3.5” LCD with touch screen functionality. Features include the ability to have voice control, graphics enhancements over previous versions, improved accessibility, higher capacity with 32 and 64GB models available, and a faster processor in the 32 and 64GB models. Although there is a host of new features and enhancements on the new 3G iPod Touch it is still lacking the ability to take photos and videos through the unit itself.
