The iPod Classic is the newest in standard iPod generations. It boasts a newer face with different colors than the previous version. Silver, Black, and a dark Gray are available for the iPod Classic. iPod Classic models come in three sizes 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB. The Classic model Apple iPod offers a full color LCD and long lasting battery. The new interface on the main menu allows for album cover art to be displayed on the iPod menu.

Classic iPod can hold thousands of songs, the 120 and 160GB models can store upwards of 20k songs from your iTunes library. You can also store pictures and videos on the iPod Classic. iTunes allows you to upload all of these types of media quickly and easily.

Connecting your iPod to your PC or Mac is just as easy as previous versions. One can connect the Classic via the dock connector located on the bottom of the iPod. Volume is controlled by the Clickwheel and a hold switch is located on top adjacent to the headphone jack. The hold switch allows you to lock the player so you don’t change settings while it is playing or accidentally turn the unit on or off while it is engaged.

The 3 Apple iPod Classic models that are available allow for robust storage of all your favorite music, videos, and pictures. Recently Apple released a new version of the iPod Classic 160GB. The new version is slimmer in design than the original 160GB model Apple offered. The demands for storage amongst avid users are met by the new large capacity drive and slim design. The matted front face plate finish gives a nice look to the device. The iPod Classic is considered Apple’s 6th generation model as it is the predecessor of the previous 5th Generation Video model. Benefits over the video model are the album cover art on the main menu and the larger storage capacity. The larger capacity is obtained by increased ram on the iPod Classic Logic board. The iPod Classic battery can hold up to hours of video and music playback.
